Network Marketing - Staying close to the Fire

Staying close to the fire after an annual convention can be tough if you are not prepared.

You get back from convention Spirits are high, people are fired up and ready to go forward with their business. Then the dreaded day to day life continues. The fire starts to die down, then what?

What should we do to stay motivated?

1) Stay plugged into Team calls
2) Read or listen to a motivational book
3) Look at your DREAM board
4) Watch the videos you took
5) Look at the pictures of the people you admired most
6) Remember the feelings you felt when you walked across the stage
7) Set up goals in 90 day increments
8) Most of all talk to people and build those relationships

And you will achieve your dreams

See you at the top,

MLM Business-Going on a 30-day cruise

When building a MLM business you should only want to bring people into your business that you would want to go on a 30-day cruise with.

Why you ask?

Well, life is too short to have to work with people you do not want to work with. That's one reason people choose to build an MLM business - they want to escape from a job working with people they just don't respect or like. Unfortunately, some people get desperate when they're building their network marketing group, and they sign up anybody they possibly can. Your best bet is to describe the people you really want at the start and stick to them.

One idea that works with a prospect is to ask yourself, "Is this someone I'd want to go on a 30-day cruise with?" This is a business you have chosen, and you also get to choose the people you will work closely with. Why choose someone you just don't like? Instead, only go with people who you think would be a lot of fun to be around, who share your dreams and goals.
It's exciting to make new friends you really like and then to be able to support them in achieving their lifetime goals.

An MLM business should be fun! So ask yourself each and every time when you talk to a prospect, is this really someone that I want to go on a 30-day cruise with. It can make for a positive experience.

Work From Home-Can you really make money?

We all get caught up in the hype about work from home opportunities. We all have this notion that this business is a piece of cake. Well in order to have a really good cake we have to prepare it right. First you would need a recipe, then you would need to go shopping to get all the ingredients, we would then have to prepare it exactly like the recipe says.

But so many of us just think that we can practically do nothing and the money just comes rolling in. We don't expect that from a JOB. We DO the work then we get paid. The same thing happens in Network Marketing, we have to do the WORK then we reap the harvest of our efforts. This does not happen overnight. For most, they do alot of work and never get paid. Do you know anyone that has worked in a MLM for many months or even years and never recieved one penny. I know that has happened to me. Why? because I didn't have all the ingredients for the recipe.

The recipe:
1. You have to have a WHY or a DREAM to keep you focused to accomplish your goal to become successful. No matter how long it takes or how hard it seems, you can never QUIT!

2. Have to have a 5 pillars company. This company should reward the part time marketer, not just the top dogs getting all the money.

3. You will need training. It is important to be able to contact people anywhere in your organization to get the help and training that you need. This training should have a proven track record as being duplicatable.

4. You will need to do self-development, which will help you to grow and become a Leader.

5. Doing social networking, getting yourself in front of people. Building relationships.

6. Following up with your leads. If you never call your leads how could you ever expect your business to grow.

7. Branding yourself as an expert, by blogging, writing articles, squidoo lenses, videos, etc.

You cannot achieve success by doing just one step by itself, it takes a combination of a little of each to become successful.

Try picturing this in your mind:.....You have a recipe for a CHOCOLATE CAKE

2 oz chocolate (squares)
1 cup of boiling water
1/2 cup shortening
2 cups sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 cups of sifted flour
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 cup sour milk
2 eggs, beaten

You have to heat the chocolate, water and shortening in a double boiler, to melt the chocolate. Then you have to measure and mix the remaing ingredients. Stir everything together until you have a smooth batter. Pour batter into 2 round pans and then bake at 350 degrees, bake at approximately 30-35 minutes. Let cool, then you can add your favorite icing.

When this is prepared correctly you get a delicious cake.

But what happens if we leave out the baking powder for instance, you get a flat hard cake.
What if we substitute motor oil for the shortening, what would this do to the our cake? I sure wouldn't want to eat it, would you?

You get the picture I'm sure!

Well the same thing happens in Network Marketing, if we leave out just one ingredient or we substitute something, then we end up with junk. If you follow the recipe you really can make money.

Follow the recipe to success!

MLM Business- Trying to sell could be a big mistake?

Why do so many of us get into a MLM business and think that in order to become successful we have to sell? It must be because the dictionary expalnation of MARKETING is:

1.the act of buying or selling in a market.

2.the total of activities involved in the transfer of goods from the producer or seller to the consumer or buyer, including advertising, shipping, storing, and selling.

A lot of sincere, earnest people get into network marketing with the plan of learning everything they possibly can about their company's products or service. They dedicate themselves to becoming an expert. Problem is, that is a total waste of time. It may sound logical. But you cannot build a MLM business by selling product ... because you are not a salesperson."

I don't know about you but when I see a salesman coming , I turn and run as fast as I can in the opposite direction.

If you have to convince people to buy your product, then you are dead before you start. Even worse, you won't be able to train anyone else to sell a product. Selling just is not duplicatable.

Better to spend your time becoming expert on people, because in network marketing, people are your REAL product. Your real goal is to help people achieve their dreams in life. And that means you must understand them. Build trust with them. You must build a relationship. That's the most important thing. Devote your time to getting good at relationship-building skills. Train yourself to be a great listener, so you understand exactly what the people you talk to want. Focus on helping them get it. To achieve their goals, they will buy your products ... if YOU have built that relationship with them.

I compiled a list of MLM keywords recently and discovered something interesting. In this particular search engine results, 75% of the top 20 MLM-related search terms had to do with "leads!" That's a pretty good clue about the #1 focus of network marketers, that was it for me.

Obviously it makes sense. To win the network marketing game a steady stream of targeted, interested people to talk to.

I found these ideas and many others are discussed by Michael Dlouhy in the free ebook
Success in 10 Steps. Now you see why people put such a high value on this ebook over the years. It's generic, so you can actually use it as part of your own lead generation system.

Success can be yours with the right system!

Be Not Afraid !

A Chinese Proverb " Be not afraid of going slowly be afraid only of standing still."

This proverb reminds me so much of Network Marketing. So often people get discouraged by not getting instant results. We live in a society of instant gratification and we don't know how to react when we don't get these type of results.

What should we do to make sure we are still moving forward?

1. Set up a daily method of operation ( plan what, when and how you are going to accomplish these tasks)

2. Personal Development ( read 10 pages a day of a good book or listen to a book on audio for a minimum of 15 minutes a day)

3. Choose 2-3 forms of advertising ( videos, blogging, social network, forums, or safelists, etc.)

4. Follow up with our leads ( create those relatioships)

If we are keeping track of our daily activites. We will know whether we are moving slowly or standing still.

Make a decision to keep moving forward to success!!
